Cruisin’ In The Currents (New Originals)
Here is a quick peek at a couple of concept sketches I've been working on lately. The repeating patterns on the backgrounds of these have been floating around in the back of my head for quite some time, and I figured it was time to get them down on paper (I never really know if a design is going to work until I get it drawn out). Forgive the coarseness of my colors on these--especially on the second one! I kept getting interrupted and my watercolors were drying out. I had intended on having a beautifully graded color palette, but this time my watercolors dried faster than I could work!
They are both quite small, 6 by 9 inches, (Pen & Ink and watercolor on a cold press 140 lb paper), but I would love to make them much, much larger...I'm thinking 3 or 4 ft wide and 5 or 6 ft tall...and maybe crafted out of sculpted wood to really add to the dimension...I'm probably overcomplicating, but I have a tendency to do that! So watch this space to see if I can find time to create these and we'll see how this all works itself out!!
